The Étoile de la Scam was awarded to Jean-Marie Gigon on Friday evening for his film Sculpting Memory, an emotional encounter between sculptor Cécile Raynal and Pierre Rolinet, 98 years old, former member of the Resistance and survivor of the camps.
The director and producer at SaNoSi Productions shares this wonderful recognition with Thierno Souleymane Diallo, who was also honored for his film Au cimetière de la pellicule. This documentary follows Mamlo’s journey in Guinea in search of the first French-speaking African film, revealing along the way the country’s forgotten history and cinematic memory.
Congratulations to both of them for these works that shine a light on documentary filmmaking and our collective memory.
And if you haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, Sculpting Memory is available for free on SaNoSi.live, in celebration of SaNoSi Productions’ 20th anniversary, until November 28!
A co-production by SaNoSi Productions, France Télévisions – France 3 Grand Est and France 3 Bourgogne Franche-Comté.
With the support of the CNC and Procirep-Angoa.
