In this film, awarded the SCAM Star 2025, Jean-Marie Gigon captures the meeting between sculptor Cécile Raynal and Pierre Rolinet, a former resistance fighter and survivor of the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp, aged 98.
During one week, in a makeshift studio in the basement of Pierre’s house in the Doubs region, two busts are born: the artist’s hand carves into clay the gaze of a man who survived the horrors of the camps, while Pierre’s words, a tireless memory keeper, revive collective memory.
More than just a documentary about artistic creation, it offers an intimate immersion into the dialogue between gesture and memory, between two generations. Each bust shaped by Cécile Raynal becomes a living symbol of the duty to remember.
Pierre Rolinet, who passed away in 2022, delivers here a final, powerful testimony.
