Kaloubadya is both a personal and collective diary. It is the dream of a young woman from Réunion in search of healing and self-discovery. It is a work of acknowledgment of a past that is both tumultuous and bright, unfolding at the heart of a family’s story and the history of the island of Réunion. Kaloubadya is a documentary about the legacy of transgenerational trauma. It is a sonic and pictorial work that uses art as a tool for resilience, offering keys to current and future generations. It aims to open up dialogue, free us from the burdens of the past, and allow us to envision our present and future with hope, resilience, and to plant fertile seeds for generations to come.
