Born in Haiti, Feguenson Hermogène studied sociology at the State University of Haiti. After participating in several documentary filmmaking and production workshops at the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL Haiti), he directed his first documentary, “La déchirure” (“The Tear”), in 2016. Selected for several international festivals, the film received an honorable mention at the “Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes Libélula Dorada” in the Dominican Republic.
In 2022, he directed the short film “Cuando llegue la noche” (“When Night Comes”), which won Best Short Film at the “Cine Plaza” festival in Cuba in 2023, as well as Best Foreign Short Film at the 22nd Latin American University and Independent Audiovisual Showcase (MAUAL) in Brazil in 2023. Feguenson has worked on several feature films as a production assistant, including “Zombie Child” by French director Bertrand Bonello. Between 2023 and 2024, he directed three short films — “La ceiba de la sombra”, “En mil pedazos”, and “Nan Ginen” — which were screened at various festivals around the world. Before entering the EICTV (International Film and Television School of Cuba) in the documentary department in 2021, he worked for over three years at the Haitian media outlet AyiboPost, an experience through which he produced several audiovisual reports.
