Marine Sigismeau

Born in Réunion, Marine grew up in Saint Pierre surrounded by sports, dance, and the sea. At 20, she moved to mainland France to study biology, but soon abandoned that path to pursue an artistic career. She trained in theater at the Centre des Arts de la Scène in Paris, followed by contemporary dance at Choreia. She became involved in the creation of the theater company Tout & Versa, with which she has been working for eight years, performing in numerous shows (including most recently Romeo & Juliet, Beyond the Walls). She has also worked with other theater companies, children’s performance troupes, and contemporary dance groups. In parallel, she frequently dances in music videos, which introduced her to the audiovisual world. She then turned to art direction and filmmaking, eventually founding a collective focused on creating music videos for emerging female artists. Hybrid and passionate about her craft, what she loves most is telling stories. Always close to her roots and family, for the past two years, she has aimed to develop artistic projects on her home island. She started with photo shoots alongside local photographers and gathering stories from her family, both through images and written words.
