Sylvestre Meinzer

After working in costume and set design, Sylvestre Meinzer learned ethnology and collaborated with the Mission du Patrimoine Ethnologique (“Le cirque classique, un spectacle moderne”, published by L’Harmattan).

Since training at the Ecole des Gobelins and Ateliers Varan, she has been making documentary films (“Pour un panier de truffes” for Arté in 2013; “Mémoires d’un condamné” released in cinemas in 2017) and working on experimental photography. “Au service des nuages” and ‘Vues du port en bleu’ were exhibited at the Musée d’Art Moderne André Malraux in Le Havre in 2013 and 2017, and more recently she is showing at the Musée du Grand Palais as well as at LAAC, Lieu d’Art et Action Contemporaine, in 2019-2020.

At the same time, in 2010 she set up an association, Les Impatients, which offers art workshops in closed environments (La Santé prison, EHPAD, children’s hospital, etc.).
