SaNoSi Productions: 20 Years of Independent Creations

This year, SaNoSi Productions celebrates its 20th anniversary, twenty years of cinematic adventures, commitments, and independent creations. Over two decades, supporting such a wide diversity of authors, dealing with uniquely personal subjects, has been a great honor. Looking back now on the journey traveled fills us with as much joy as surprise!
For twenty years, we have been deeply committed to the freedom of creation for authors, convinced that this freedom is essential to the birth of unique and authentic works. We have produced over 80 films, mainly documentaries as well as some fiction, for television and cinema. More than half of these works are first-time productions, reflecting our ongoing commitment to supporting new authors.

The diversity of our productions also relies on the internationality of the directors from around the world. This openness allows us to approach universal and engaged themes such as personal trajectories, cultural identities, social struggles, human rights, and ecology—topics at the heart of contemporary concerns.

Moreover, two-thirds of the projects in development for 2025 are led by women filmmakers, confirming our will to promote diversity and equality in cinema.

Over the years, several of our productions have had remarkable journeys. In 2018, Laetitia Carton’s Le Grand Bal was shown in a special screening at Cannes and nominated for the César Award for Best Documentary. In 2021, Freda, by Gessica Généus, our first fiction, also shined in Cannes and was awarded over 25 international prizes. More recently, Pierre Feuille Pistolet by Maciek Hamela (2023) and Always by Deming Chen (2025) have been recognized at several prestigious festivals worldwide.

To celebrate this extraordinary anniversary, we have several surprises in store starting November 9. Stay tuned, follow us on social media, and get ready to live this unique moment with us.
