Special Films & Politics session: Screening of In the Rearview

Maciek Hamela‘s documentary will be presented at La Tricoterie in Brussels. It will be preceded by a keynote address and a panel discussion titled “The Fight for Freedom – Ukraine’s Path Forward”.

The discussion preceding the screening, will talk on Ukraine’s future path toward security, stability, and European integration. With shifting U.S. commitments, NATO’s role, and the stance of neighboring countries, how can regional stability be ensured? How can Ukraine be rebuilt without political compromises?

In the Rearview’s synopsis: ‘A Polish van criss-crosses the roads of Ukraine. On board, Maciek Hamela is evacuating people who have fled their country since the Russian invasion. The vehicle becomes an ephemeral refuge, a place of trust and confidences for people who are leaving everything behind and have only one objective left: to find a chance of life for themselves and their children.’
