In the Rearview wins two prizes in the DocDocDoc 2024 European competition: the DocDocDoc Hermine Award and the Public Award.
This annual celebration of European cinema, organized for the 22nd time by the Cinécran Association, took place in Vannes, Brittany.
A word from the Cinécran association Cinécran : “A very contemporary documentary, in which the terror of the moment is mixed with the verbalization (or not) of what a war involves. One of the final scenes brings the story of an intense meeting to a close, restrained or sustained by words often entrusted to the children. The tumult is hemmed in by the fixity of the images, the stripping back of its means, the unconditional flight mixed with the prudence of circumstance. It’s cold and burning at the same time. We feel very small in front of this documentary that captures everything that represents the life these people have to give up.”
