Synopsis

In the vineyards of Rilly la Montagne, in Champagne, I film a team of seasonal harvesters-cutters. In this region they are called the “hordons”. The group is headed by the young Aymeric who resumes his father’s exploitation.

Here, the hordons are not farm workers by profession, they leave out their daily life to live under the same roof and to work together for a twelve days period.

Some of them come back year to year and have difficulties to adapt to the new “management” methods of their son.

People appear the way they are while their bodies are exhausted, after days of cuts and alcoholic nights have passed.
